Nyasha Laing
NNyasha Laing is a documentarian, producer, and writer whose storytelling explores freedom and inheritance. Her independent work has been featured in the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Pan-African Film Festival, Indie Memphis, Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival, and WOMEX. Her writing and impact work have been featured on the BBC World Service, PBS, and other media outlets.
Nyasha’s strategy and narrative change work includes producing content, designing trainings on human rights and inclusion, forging international partnerships with artists and media organizations, engaging audiences and partners for award-winning films, designing culturally relevant learning tools, and mobilizing donors for impact storytelling campaigns on a range of social justice issues. She is a Founding Partner at Red Owl, a boutique impact production company.
Nyasha is a graduate of Yale University and NYU School of Law. She calls New York City, Kingston, and Belize City home.
